Night Garden Essential Oil Reed Diffuser

Night Garden is my floral and woody essential oil blend, with rose-like notes, a little warmth and a richer fragrance than Sleep Easy or Focus.

I particularly like Night Garden in the evening. It's the sort of fragrance I enjoy having around me when the day's activities are finished and I'm settling down at home.

I make each diffuser by hand in small batches in my studio near Stroud in the Cotswolds, using my own blend of five pure essential oils.

The Night Garden scent

I developed Night Garden by combining five essential oils, each bringing something different to the fragrance.

• Palmarosa: A soft, rosy floral note with a fresh, slightly green character.

• Rose geranium: A fuller floral fragrance that complements the palmarosa.

• Ylang ylang: A rich, sweet floral note that gives Night Garden its distinctive character.

• Cedarwood Atlas: A warm, woody note that balances the flowers.

• Benzoin: Sweet, warm and resinous, adding depth to the blend.

Together, they create a floral fragrance with a warm, woody base. It's quite different from the lavender-based Sleep Easy blend, and a lovely choice if you prefer something more floral.

Why choose a reed diffuser?

I like reed diffusers because they provide a continuous background fragrance without needing a flame or regular spraying.

Night Garden works particularly well in a bedroom or living room, or anywhere you enjoy having a floral fragrance throughout the day and evening.

Unlike a candle, a diffuser doesn't need lighting, although it should still be positioned carefully and kept away from children and pets.

How to use your Night Garden diffuser

Place your diffuser on a stable, protected surface and insert the reeds. They'll gradually absorb the fragrance and release it into the room.

The reeds are made from recycled materials and don't need turning.

You can use fewer reeds if you prefer a lighter fragrance. Keep your diffuser away from direct sunlight, heat and draughts, and protect surfaces from spills.

A 100ml diffuser typically lasts around 3–6 months, depending on its position, room temperature and airflow. Some last longer.

Refills and replacement reeds

Already have a Night Garden diffuser? You can buy a 100ml refill in an amber glass bottle, ready to pour into your existing diffuser bottle.

The complete diffuser comes in a heavy glass bottle with three extra-thick black reeds made from recycled materials.

Replacement reeds are also available if you need them or want to change fragrances.
