Essential Oil Reed Diffusers
I make my reed diffusers with my own blends of pure essential oils, because I want the fragrance in my home to come from plants and flowers.
Choose Sleep Easy when you want to wind down, Focus for a fresh, uplifting daytime scent, or Night Garden for a soft floral and woody fragrance in the evening.
Each diffuser is handmade by me in small batches in my Cotswolds studio near Stroud.
Sleep Easy
Lavender, chamomile, neroli and patchouli. A soft, calming blend that's particularly lovely in the bedroom or wherever you like to relax.
Focus
Lemon, pink grapefruit, rosemary, eucalyptus, peppermint and frankincense. Fresh, citrusy and herbal, I like this one for daytime, particularly when I'm working or need to concentrate.
Night Garden
Palmarosa, rose geranium, ylang ylang, cedarwood and benzoin. A floral, woody blend with a little warmth, designed with evenings in mind.
Why I use essential oils
I don't buy in ready-made fragrance blends. I choose and blend the individual essential oils myself until I'm happy with the scent and the way the oils work together.
It's one of the things I love about making College Green products. The same essential oils can be combined in very different ways, from the bright citrus and herbs of Focus to the softer florals of Sleep Easy and Night Garden.
Each 100ml diffuser will typically fragrance your home for around 3–6 months, sometimes longer, so although essential-oil diffusers aren't the cheapest way to scent your home, one can last for months.
Getting the best from your diffuser
Each diffuser comes with reeds made from recycled materials, designed to absorb and release the essential-oil blend without needing to be turned.
Place your diffuser somewhere the fragrance can circulate around the room, but avoid strong sunlight, radiators and particularly draughty spots, as heat and airflow can make the liquid evaporate more quickly.
How long your diffuser lasts will vary according to the room. Temperature, humidity, airflow, where you position it and the number of reeds you use can all make a difference.
